Flowers all the way……

I love the colours of this yarn. I use it to decorate my hand warmers. I can’t remember what make it is but I think it is called flowers. The wool shop doesn’t stock it any more so I must make the most of it.

Happy hands are warm hands…….

I have just got in from ‘Les Mis’ and feel quite emotionally drained so have started making hand warmers again. Today I visited the wool shop to get some more yarn. I am using Monsoon, a James Brett yarn (30% wool and 70% acrylic) with a 5 hook and Stylecraft Chunky Harlequin using a 6 hook. I like the rich colour palette and the unpredictability of the colours. I have decided to knit the left and right hand consecutively using two balls. I sometimes despair of having to crochet the other hand! It’s all in the mind as it will still take the same amount of time. I am waiting for the James Brett ‘Passion’ to come in, a lovely chunky yarn, but it has been delayed and I think Spring will be in the air before it arrives. I have an unfinished pair of H/W’s to complete using passion………but the passion may have run out before I get it.

The ‘big one’ reaps rewards……

DSCF0706
Just got in from my walk along the ‘pink prom’ and a jolly coffee in the store and I was pondering the the ‘big one’. By this I mean my extra chunky pom pom hat that I wore on my walk today! I noticed people smiling at me, was it the hat or did I look totally ridiculous? It didn’t matter as it was really lovely to receive the smiles. I also had heartwarming conversations with two people who I had not met before and probably will not meet again. We shared our thoughts and a fragment of the day passed leaving me with a rather a glow. I think I will try the hat again…..

The Big one…..

The Big one.....

After reading the post about ‘slouchy hats’ i decided to get the big wool out …….. I have a Wendy pattern for a hat made out of ‘thor’ super chunky on size 15mm needles. Here it is on the table so when my tea is brewed I will get started…….result to be posted later.
